Welcome to St Alphege CE Infant &
Sunbeams Nursery School
The St Alphege school building is on the main road in the centre of the seaside town of Whitstable.
St Alphege Church of England Infant and Sunbeams Nursery School in Whitstable is well known for its friendly, caring, child centred atmosphere. The staff are specialist Foundation and Key Stage One teachers.
There are currently 190 children on the school roll. They are formed into 6 classes, 2 Reception, 2 Year 1 and 2 Year 2. The school has close links with two nearby Junior schools where most children transfer for Key Stage Two:
There is also a purpose built Nursery which runs two sessions daily, morning and afternoon, both for 26 children from the age of 3 years old. Admittance to the Nursery does not mean automatic transfer into St Alphege CEI School.
St Alphege CE Infant and Sunbeams Nursery School is a place where all children are valued and given a sense of security and self worth. We help each child to develop personal, spiritual and moral strengths, reflecting our identity as a Church School. We sensitively challenge our children to produce their best in an atmosphere of praise, encouragement, happiness and fun. In this way pupils develop the necessary skills and confidence to enjoy the world of learning. We work in close partnership with families and the community, helping the child to mature socially and showing them ways to help others.
