School Lunches

Our school caterers are Chartwells.  They are responsible for employing the kitchen staff, staff training, menu planning, nutritional information and all legislation relating to catering.

All meals are cooked on site daily and we offer healthy choices which is really important to us and our Enhanced Healthy School Status.  The are a selection of salad items, fresh fruit, yoghurt and water on offer every day we ensure all our children are making healthy food choices for themselves.

If you would like more information about Chartwells please view their website here.

Children are encouraged to choose from a hot main meal, vegetarian option or jacket potato with access to a variety of salad items from the trolley. Alternatively children can choose a roll with a choice of fillings from our 'Bap Bar' along with salad and the daily pudding. Midday staff and teaching assistants support the children with their meal choices, encourage good eating habits and support with games in the playground after children have eaten.

Alternatively you can provide a packed lunch from home. We do ask that you refrain from including chocolate bars, sweets or multiple high sugar items. Ideas for healthy snacks can be found at NHS Change 4 Life.

Please see below for the current menu being offered. We can also offer a vegan menu and allergy aware menu on request.

All infant aged children are entitled to a free meal under the government Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme saving families approximately £400 per child per year.

Families are still able to claim the benefits related Free School Meal if they are entitled and this brings additional benefits for your child.  Please go to www.kent.gov.uk to apply.

Fruit and Veg Scheme

We also benefit from the Fruit & Vegetable Scheme which entitles every child in our school to a free piece of fruit or vegetable daily at morning break time.  You can find out more about this scheme by visiting the NHS Eat Well website

We operate the Coolmilk for Schools scheme which allows parents to register their child for a carton of milk each day. There is a small charge for the milk but it is subsidised by the E.U. Find out more at Coolmilk.com
